Last night, the Lady Rocket Volleyball team went 1-1 in games against El Dorado and Andale. The Rockets beat El Dorado 24-13, 25-12 and lost to Andale 17-25, 23-25. Despite their loss, they improved their record to 20-11. “I’m proud of how we competed last night. We came out and played well against El Dorado, then turned around and challenged the No. 2 Andale. Taking that second set to 23–25 shows we are capable of competing at a high level. The next step for us is finding a way to close out those tight sets. We have to keep believing in ourselves, stay aggressive in important moments, and understand that we belong on the court with these teams,” said head coach Cherith Mock.
Offensively, the Rockets were led by Chloe Mock with 11 kills and 14 assists, followed by
Madilyn Rutledge with nine kills. Defensively, Kiera Mahlandt put up three blocks, and Marissa
Jensen and Chloe Mock each had two against Andale’s big hitters. Volleyball plays again tomorrow night September 15th at home against Buhler and Augusta.
