Time For The Next Chapter
I started working on this website back in August of 2014. In that time I have written well over 300 articles at this computer I am sitting at right now. Some of the articles have came by staring at a box score from the newspaper, and some come from my vivid memories of the games I am able to make it to. Sometimes I am able to contact athletes when I am not able to attend games and sometimes I can’t. I have also written a fair share of articles when I am not able to make it to school. After putting so much time into this website I began to feel a sense of pride. It is a special feeling when you begin to take pride in something. Very few things besides swimming and golf in high school gave me a sense of pride like the website did. I have many memories of me emailing the articles in for Mr. Wright. My favorite is whenever I drove up to Indiana all through the night after school on Thursday and didn’t sleep the entire way. I needed the articles done in the morning and after I got into Indiana I stopped at a Jersey Mike’s sub shop to write and send in the articles off of their Wi-Fi as my deadline quickly approached.  As many parents and athletes scroll through I’m sure very few stop to think what it takes to upkeep this website. I’m also sure many of them probably don’t even know it is student maintained with help from Mr. Wright. Regardless of the minimal recognition, I know what it takes to keep this well-oiled machine running as smoothly as possible. I know the effort put in by the team and Mr. Wright to keep the website at the quality it’s at. Just that alone is enough to make me proud of what I do. As I say goodbye, I will never forget the website or what an impact it has made on me and my work ethic. I will attend Indiana University next year, and I am sure I will make the occasional check on the website in the next few years to see what new changes have been made to further improve it. Thank you to Mr. Wright and the webpage team for making this not only a learning experience, but also an enjoyable one.
A Class To Remember
No class has been as good to me as Mr. Wright's Web Design Class. There have been so many memories made in there that I can’t even begin to count them all. These incredible memories range from the impromptu pizza parties to teasing past Webmaster Ryan Parkey about crashing the front-page his Junior year. I had the extreme pleasure of being a part of the 2014-2015 Web Design Team my Junior year alongside amazing Webmasters Ryan Parkey, Ethan Aberg, and Brody Hingst. I can’t even begin to describe all the good times I’ve had in Mr. Wright’s class and it’s so hard to admit this section of my life is coming to an end. I had the honor of being a part of the Web Team for two years, which were my Junior and Senior years. My Senior year I had the distinguished honor of being a part of the 2015-2016 Web Design Team with some fantastic Webmasters including Joshua Treat, Kristen Bohm, Ethan Aberg, Brody Hingst, and Dominic Scott. Every Webmaster I’ve worked with has been great at what they do and they have all been highly dedicated to maintaining Rose Hill’s Rocket Athletics website. I still remember all those extra days coming in to update the site even if there wasn’t a scheduled school day. Mr. Wright always made it worth our while and brought something in for us whether it was breakfast or a to-go-bag full of cookies. If I could I would do it all over again without changing a single detail. Well, except maybe starting earlier if I could. Thank you Mr. Wright for the unforgetful experience and the many lessons you have taught me through the years. Also, I want to thank every single Webmaster I’ve had the pleasure of working with for their commitment to the website and past Webmasters for leaving such an excellent site to be a part of. I will carry the memories of this class with me forever and I will never forget all the good times I had in Mr. Wright’s Advanced Web Design Class.

It's Been A Treat...
I started my Webmaster career in August of 2015. I was a late addition to the team and was by far the least experienced with Adobe. It was a quick learning curve to understand how the website operated. I started off doing just box scores and photo galleries. While it was quick work we never had a break. Mr. Wright started off the year with a goal in mind which was to convert the entire website so that it would be mobile friendly. We spent all of our free time going into every single page on the website and making the top banner work on a phone. We finished this project in early February and were quite relieved that it was done. The feeling didn’t last long. We were told by Mr. Wright that we had to make the navigation bar on the side of the page also mobile friendly. I died a little inside. So we went into every page again and made that work. By this time I was in here for two hours a day. I came in first hour to run the photo galleries of all the sports and then in fourth hour to do boxscores. It was a fun year because I got to spend time with Kristen Bohm, Ethan Aberg, Dominic Scott, and Jarrod Fisher. Next year I will be attending Butler Community College then going to Wichita State University to further my education. I plan on becoming an aerospace engineer as long as the math classes don’t kill me. In which case I will happily get a degree in Marketing with a minor in international business. Working on the website has taught me many things about computers and work ethic that I will use the rest of my life. I am very glad that I was able to make the website better and I am proud to be a part of it.
Best Of Them All...
I began working on the Rocket Athletics website this year. Considering it was my first year, I learned quite a bit. I had taken Keyboarding, Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver previous to taking this course. During my first semester of senior year I took InDesign to finish out the Adobe classes. I had the privilege of working with Jarrod Fisher, Josh Treat, Dominic Scott, Ethan Aberg, and Brody Hingst. I was mostly the “special projects” person. I updated the Cross Country introduction flash along with the Wrestling and Swimming introduction flashes. They took most of my time. When I wasn’t doing one of the flashes I was either helping Josh, Dom, and Brody update the sports index pages or updating the College Signings flash. This year our group worked on converting the website to mobile friendly. While Josh did most of the conversions, we all pitched in some. I am forever grateful for getting the opportunity to work on this website. Thank you to Mr. Wright for putting up with me for yet another class. Next year I plan on attending Emporia State University and majoring in Accounting. It was fun knowing everything our sports did, I’m going to miss Rose Hill and the Rocket Athletics web team.

The End Has Arrived
For the duration of my four year career of high school I have been dedicated to athletics. At the end of my sophomore year, Mr. Wright asked me if I would like to help him with the Rocket Athletics website for the following year, and of course I said yes. I didn't know what I had gotten myself into, but what I did know was that I had two more years of joy and love in store. Everyday for the last two years, I spent time working on a variety of boxscores and results for many different sports, photo galleries, and slideshows. I am planning on attending Coffeyville Community College where I will major in secondary education and will be playing football. Farewell, Rose Hill.
